Landscapes: Meadows, Woods & Gardens of Central Park

Frederick Law Olmsted, co-designer of Central Park, believed deeply in the restorative power of nature—a vision influenced by the writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson. In this session, discover how Central Park was intentionally designed to evoke feelings of “rest, tranquility, deliberation and maturity,”

Join us to explore the park’s carefully crafted meadows, woodlands, waterfalls, and rock outcroppings—each element chosen to inspire both tranquility and playful wonder.

Led by Ginny Poleman – A graduate of Cornell University and a licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide, Ginny offers tours for the American Institute of Architects on the Classic Harbor Cruise Line's architectural tours and is an experienced guide for the Municipal Art Society and New York City’s largest art museum.
