Fall prevention is about more than simply being careful. Strength, balance, vision, medications, confidence, daily habits, and the home environment can all affect your risk of falling—and many of these factors are within your control.
Join physical therapist Jade Somboonthum to learn how your physical abilities, everyday routines, and surroundings can impact your balance, mobility, and independence. You’ll leave with practical strategies to help you move with greater confidence and reduce common fall risks in everyday life.
The session will combine practical guidance with optional movement demonstrations featuring simple exercises performed while seated or standing with support. No special equipment or fitness experience is required. Participants are welcome to join the movements, remain seated, or simply observe.
We’ll cover:
Why falls happen and the factors that can increase your risk
Simple ways to identify and reduce common fall risks at home and in your everyday routines
Foundational movements that help build strength, balance, and safer mobility
When changes in balance or mobility may warrant professional evaluation
