Discover Wave Hill, a NYC Garden Treasure: Dig into the Wild Garden

You don’t have to leave New York City to discover a spectacular garden escape. Set high above the Hudson River in the Bronx’s Riverdale neighborhood, Wave Hill is a 28-acre public garden and cultural center with beautifully composed gardens, peaceful woodlands, and sweeping views of the Palisades. It’s a remarkable place to slow down, explore, and connect with nature—and a local treasure well worth discovering.

Join Wave Hill gardener Sandra Schaller for a closer look at its Wild Garden and the care and creativity behind its seemingly untamed beauty. We’ll explore Wave Hill’s history and discover how decades of design, stewardship, and ecological understanding have shaped this vibrant, restorative landscape. Whether you’re an avid gardener or simply appreciate a beautiful outdoor space, come find inspiration for your next visit.
